Sarah Jessica Parker in tears after ouster of Halston CEO Bonnie Takhar

Halston chief executive officer Bonnie Takhar was let go from the fashion house yesterday, sources confirmed to Page Six.

Takhar has been with Halston since the brand’s relaunch in 2007 from Jimmy Choo, but sources said creative differences within the company led to her dramatic ouster.

Sources also tell us that Sarah Jessica Parker, the face of the label, was visibly upset in Halston’s SoHo offices last week after learning Takhar was to leave the vintage-inspired house at the request of the board.

Parker has been chief creative director of Halston since January. She wore Halston in “Sex and the City 2” and appeared at both Fashion Week presentations for the brand in February and September this year.

A source told us, “Sarah and Bonnie had a meeting on Friday in Halston’s offices to discuss problems with the latest collection. Sarah has been a strong supporter of Bonnie for a very long time, and has been the sole voice supporting her against the board and shareholders. She has been fighting this for a very long time. She believed in Bonnie. She was emotional and upset because this finally came to a head.

“Parker was in the middle of the office, in tears, when she finally heard that Bonnie was going,” said our insider.

Halston board member Harvey Weinstein said in a statement, “Sarah Jessica is a huge supporter of Bonnie’s, but it was time to change direction. It was the rest of the board that made the decision. No one was more steadfast to Bonnie than Sarah Jessica.”

A rep for Parker declined to comment. Takhar couldn’t be reached last night. But her ouster might have also been foreseen by a source who said her resumé was found in an office printer last week.
