A day after his daughter Georgina gave birth to his first grandchild, the billionaire New York leader got one of the familiar novelty mugs a Christmas gift from firefighters during visit to the FDNY’s Ladder 115 station in Queens this morning.

“My daughter wanted a family. And she’s ecstatic,” Bloomberg said, at a separate event at the 108th Precinct in Long Island City.

The child, Jasper Michael Brown Quintana ,came into the world at 4:34 p.m. Christmas Eve in New York City. The baby weighed in at 7.7 pounds.

Georgina, 30, and her equestrian boyfriend, Ramiro Quintana, have been dating for around a year. The couple share a home in Florida.
