Elizabeth Vargas is back at work at ABC after a second stint in rehab for alcohol abuse.
The “20/20” anchor was back in the office Monday and will return to host the show Friday.
A friend said, “There has been a steady stream of well-wishers to welcome her back. Elizabeth realized she hadn’t conquered the issue the first time and went back to rehab to do the important work that needs to be done. She looks fantastic and is ready to get back to work.”
“Like so many people, I am dealing with addiction,” Vargas said in a Nov. 6 statement. “I realized I was becoming increasingly dependent on alcohol.”
An ABC News rep said, “Everyone is pulling for Elizabeth and looking forward to her return to ‘20/20.’ ”
