Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher return to Twitter

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher may be splitting up, but they are still, separately, on the same wavelength. Both ended self-imposed Twitter breaks with Thanksgiving messages for their millions of followers yesterday. The couple had been silent on the social networking site since Nov. 17.

Moore tweeted, “Why do we have only 1 day for giving thanks? Is that why so many people feel unappreciated? Make this 1 of 365 days of Thanksgiving!”

Meanwhile, Kutcher tweeted, “I’m thankful for family, friends, you, & time to reach my potential. What are you thankful for? #thanksgiving.”

Both Kutcher and Moore have been silent on Twitter since Moore announced that she would be ending the couple’s six-year marriage, following 22-year-old Sara Leal’s allegation that she had a sexy romp with Kutcher the same night as his wedding anniversary with Moore.

Kutcher’s final tweet before his break from the site responded to Moore’s announcement. He wrote, “I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail.”

The couple has been prolific on Twitter over the years — Moore, who uses the now-ironic handle @mrskutcher, has more than 4 million followers while Kutcher has over 8 million. In happier times, the couple often used the website to flirt.

In August 2009, Kutcher tweeted, “I want to take moment to appreciate my incredible wife @mrskutcher & all the support she shows me. Baby u r the best decision I’ve ever made.”

A few months later, Moore posted a photo of herself with the words “race u to the bedroom” written on her hand. “4 sure,” Kutcher responded, tweeting a photo back at her.
