A Host of powerful New Yorkers gathered to kick off the campaign to legalize gay marriage across America including Julianne Moore, Neil Patrick Harris, Robert De Niro, Anna Wintour, Jeff Koons, Ronald Perelman and Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld. They joined Calvin Klein creative directors Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli at their Madison Avenue flagship on Monday night to launch the Americans for Marriage Equality campaign. Moore said, “Everybody deserves to be able to marry the person they love and have a family dynamic. . . . This is something we are going to look back on in the years to come, and say, I can’t believe it took us so long.” The Human Rights Campaign’s Brian Ellner thanked Wintour for being among those who filmed messages in support of New Yorkers for Marriage Equality. He joked that while shooting in her office the lights beaming in interfered with the shot so the powerful Vogue editor, “picked up the phone and simply had the lights in Times Square turned off.”
