Britney Spears and Lady Gaga’s budding friendship looks as if it will result in a collaboration between the two artists.

The two pop divas, who spent time together in Las Vegas this past weekend, are thinking about recording a duet, according to US Weekly.

“It’ll happen soon,” an unnamed insider told the gossip mag.

Gaga, 27, took in Saturday night’s performance of the 32-year-old Spears’ Las Vegas extravaganza, “Piece of Me.” The “Applause” singer gushed about the show and spending time with Spears, whose father, Jamie Spears, provided a home-cooked barbecue meal for the pop star.

News of the possible collaboration shouldn’t come as a shock, as Spears mentioned wanting to work with Gaga during a web chat to promoter her latest album, “Britney Jean,” in December of last year.

“I would do a duet with Lady Gaga,” the pop icon said at the time. “I think that would be a lot of fun. I think she’s very different and interesting and intricate, and I like her as an artist.”

Gaga was quick to reply, voicing her approval in a since-deleted tweet: “Let’s do this bitch, it’s time.”
