Prominent New York divorce attorney Norman Sheresky, who died Oct. 19 at 85, got his revenge from the grave on his enemy partners from his former firm, Sheresky Aronson Mayefsky & Sloan — by playing a video from his 80th birthday showing those very partners, David Aronson and Allan Mayefsky, praising him for his experience, skill and mentorship.
Their matrimonial firm split when Sheresky left in a huff in 2010, at 82, claiming his partners reneged on a deal to give him extra money. They, in turn, claimed he had agreed to a buy-out plan three years earlier.
As we reported, Sheresky’s dying wish was to ban Aronson and Mayefsky from his funeral at the chapel at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home.
Then he got the last laugh by asking his wife to play a video presentation, titled “Norman’s Reflections on his 80th Birthday” (recorded with input from the former partners before things turned sour), in front of many of their peers, including top divorce attorneys Robert S. Cohen, William Herman, Bernard Post, Raoul Felder and Jeffrey R. Cohen.
