The recent arrest of restaurateur Josh Woodward for the alleged murder of a fetus has cast a spotlight on his ex-girlfriend, New York Times travel writer Suzy Buckley. Woodward — who co-owns Table Eight in New York and 8 oz. Burger Bar in Miami Beach — was arrested in Los Angeles after a different woman told police that Woodward, one night when she was still pregnant, repeatedly put his fingers into a plastic bag and then touched her genitals with a powder. She miscarried hours later. Police believe the powder was Misoprostol, used by doctors to induce labor. The arrest must have come after the deadline for the Time “T” Travel section, where Buckley told readers in a five-page spread on Miami nightlife: “Have a grass-fed beef burger topped with Bel Paese cheese . . . at 8 oz. Burger Bar.” Now Buckley might be in trouble. The Times ethics policy states: “No journalist may report for us about any travel service or product offered by a family member or close friend.”
