Late slot too racy for Carrie

Dethroned Miss California Carrie Prejean pulled out of talks to appear at a Connecticut club, claiming a midnight slot was “in direct conflict with her reputation as a Christian.” Fresh from her being dumped by the pageant after she bashed gay marriage and was revealed to have taken part in a sex tape, Prejean was negotiating a $15,000 offer with promoters Moodswing360 to appear at Shrine at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods on Jan. 26, but balked at appearing between midnight and 2 a.m.

Her mother, Francine, wrote in an e-mail: “We are not completely certain that we want her in a nightclub setting at the hours specified in the contract. As you can understand, this is in direct conflict with who she is. Her reputation as a Christian is more important than any public appearance attention or monetary compensation.” She added, “If in the future, you have an opportunity for her to speak to young adults, or physically challenged athletes, she would love it.”
