Liza Minnelli held a Hamptons yard sale to offload some of her possessions including lampshades, wine glasses, worn dance shoes — and a set of epaulets given to her by Michael Jackson. She posted a blind ad in the East Hampton Star offering “a truckload of celebrity-owned items . . . don’t bother coming early, entertainers sleep in.” But Hampton Sheet’s Joan Jedell tells us that shoppers at the East Hampton home of NBC producer Angela LaGreca were greeted not only by an array of Minnelli belongings, but by the legendary entertainer herself, who signed things as she sold them off. Browsers such as Joy Behar also picked from Minnelli’s jewelry, costumes, couture clothing and furniture from her Lake Tahoe home. The goods included lampshades from the set of “Minnelli on Minnelli,” featuring her father, Vincente Minnelli, on the shades. Liza joked as she pointed out a book on “Total Hip Replacement” signed by her surgeon, “You’ve got to keep on trucking, folks, keep on trucking!”
