Country star Randy Travis threatened to “shoot and kill” Texas troopers who arrested him for drunk driving last night.

Travis was found naked by police, TMZ reports, when cops arrived at the scene where he’d crashed his car in North Texas. TMZ says it’s unclear why the singer was in the nude on the road, and further reports that Travis has “minor cuts and bruises” from the single car crash, and was booked on “retaliation and obstruction” charges as well as DUI.

TMZ says Grayson County Sheriff’s Office authorities, “received a call at 11:18 p.m. from a person who stated there was a man lying in the roadway.”

And that, “When cops arrived to the scene, they noticed Travis’ 1998 Pontiac Trans Am had driven off the road and slammed into several barricades in a construction zone.”

TMZ further said that when Travis was taken into custody, things turned threatening.

“Once he was inside the cop car, officials say the singer threatened to ‘shoot and kill’ the Troopers working the case,” TMZ reports.

Travis was released from custody after posting $21,500 bail this morning, according to TMZ.

CBS reported that, “a Texas trooper arrested Travis, 53, around midnight Tuesday near Tioga, where the entertainer lives.”

According to TMZ, this is the second booze bust for Travis this year, citing his February bust in front of a Baptist church following a fight with his girlfriend.

Page Six reported last year that Travis was “out of it” and punched a wall in a Fox News Channel green room when he appeared on “Fox and Friends.”
