The relationship between Lady Gaga and PETA has turned into a bad romance.

The animal rights organization once considered the “Judas” singer an anti-fur ally when she spoke up against the cruelty of wearing fur on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” in 2009.

While the singer should be used to kicking up a fuss about her sartorial choices, her recent outfits are drawing the ire of PETA.

Dan Mathews, PETA’s Senior VP, wrote to the singer: “Many of your gay fans, I among them, have long admired what you told Ellen: ‘I hate fur, and I don’t wear fur.’”

“I included a link because these recent photos of you in fox and rabbit and with a wolf carcass make it appear that you have amnesia,” he continued.

Matthews called the singer a “turncoat” for reneging on her anti-fur stance and “dumb” for wearing fur in record-breaking summer heat. She was last week spotted in a hot pink Giorgio Armani fur coat, and also wearing a wolf carcass in the poster of her movie Machete Kills.

“By wearing those dumb furs in a heat wave, you’re making yourself a target just like the mindless Kim Kardashian,” he wrote.

Mathews didn’t have to wait long for a response. Gaga tweeted late Monday with a cheeky reply. “For those press and such who are writing about whether or not my fur is actually real. Please don’t forget to credit the designer HERMES. Thank You! LOVE, gaga.”
