Madonna and Britney Spears are still flirting, nine years after locking lips on the stage of the MTV Video Music Awards.
“@MadonnaMDNAday love the new album — every single song is incredible,” Spears tweeted to Madonna yesterday afternoon. “Congrats girl!”

The Material Girl quickly responded.
“@britneyspears please come on stage and kiss me again,” she wrote on the micro-blogging site. “I miss you!!”
Shortly after, Spears gave male fans a jolt, responding, “Tempting…”
“@britneyspears Are you gonna make me work for this?” inquired Madonna.
Spears played coy tweeting back, “Why of course!”
Neither involved Christina Aguilera, who was also part of the 2003 Video Music Award three-way kiss stunt, in the conversation.
Madonna will be hard-pressed to get a kiss from Spears. The pop star is recently engaged to Jason Trawick, once her manager.
While Madonna’s new album contains several songs that appear to be aimed at ex-husband Guy Ritchie, she recently said in an interview “I still believe in love.” She is currently dating 24-year-old French dancer Brahim Zaibat.
