Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein have dreamed up the ultimate auction item for amfAR’s upcoming Cinema Against AIDS gala. On the block will be the chance to become a movie star with the help of both powerhouse icons. Weinstein will produce and Lagerfeld will direct a short film starring the highest bidder. The prize will be offered during the auction at the black-tie benefit at Hôtel du Cap-Eden Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France, on Thursday. Lagerfeld and Weinstein are among the event chairs along with Alec Baldwin, Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue, Milla Jovovich, Carine Roitfeld, Michel Hazanavicius, Bérénice Bejo, Ryan Kavanaugh and Kenneth Cole. Former French Vogue editor Roitfeld is bringing her edgy style and has put together a runway show of LBDs for the gala. Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Roberto Cavalli, Chanel, Christian Dior, Christopher Kane, Emilio Pucci, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Marchesa and Versace will all send their wares down the catwalk during the fund-raiser, with a top model lineup including Naomi Campbell. Guests will have a chance to bid on the entire collection of looks.
