Andy Valmorbida uses generator to power art show

Gallerist Andy Valmorbida wouldn’t let hurricane effects stop his exhibition of works by Alexis Ro
ss and Todd James. The Tuesday opening at 560 Washington St., which is still without power, went on with help from a generator which not only fueled the lights but also a homemade tattoo station. We’re told none of the guests, including Jeffrey Deitch, Nicky Hilton, Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, Terry Richardson and the Winklevoss twins, were brave enough to get any permanent ink. For others, the tattoo station will be there for the run of the show. A “Smoking & Espresso” hut allowed guests to light up.
