‘Anchorman 2’ to mix showbiz and hard news

Little plot information has been divulged about the highly anticipated “Anchorman” sequel, but funnyman Will Ferrell offered a tidbit that’s 100 percent confirmed: “The movie will be filmed entirely in English.”

In all seriousness, Ferrell shared to ABCNews.com that ”Anchorman: The Legend Continues” will mix showbiz stories with hard news.

“We are going to focus on and comment on the transition from what was kind of traditional news to where entertainment forces started melding in, and Ron’s going to be one of the catalysts of that,” he said.

Director Adam McKay recently told The Playlist that “Anchorman 2″ would go in more of a musical direction. Ferrell wouldn’t confirm the singing and dancing, saying “it would be very premature for me to comment on anything, only because we’re still kind of working on the script, we rewrite and we rewrite, and it changes 8,000 times.”

Ferrell has been prepping for his role as the mustached newsman. “I’m surprised by how many people have walked up to me and asked, ‘Is that mustache real?’” he said. “Of course, I say, ‘Yes, why would I be wearing a fake mustache?’ I mean, why would I be walking around wearing a fake mustache?”

The comedy is slated for release next October, almost ten years since the original 2004 film.
