Jon Bon Jovi’s daughter’s arrest ‘shocks’ family: report

It’s been trying for Jon Bon Jovi and his family after their only daughter Stephanie Rose Bongiovi was arrested following an alleged heroin overdose.

The 19-year-old Hamilton College student was found initially unresponsive by medics Wednesday after she apparently overdosed in a dorm room. Bongiovi was rushed to a local hospital, where she recovered. She and a fellow student, Ian Grant, were subsequently charged with possession of a small amount of heroin and marijuana.

“This was a shock,” a source told Us Weekly. “A very sad shock.”

Drug charges against Stephanie have been dropped, prosecutors said yesterday, but the magazine reports that the incident has shaken the otherwise “normal” and tight-knit family.

“[Stephanie] is really close with her dad,” a different source told the mag. The source added that the father of four always attended their school events and functions. “He’s a very good dad who loves his kids.”

“We were shocked [to hear about what happened],” the second source added. “Stephanie is a sweetheart and so down-to-earth. She always wanted to party, but not in a way that made anyone think differently of her over any other teenager.”

Bon Jovi and wife Dorothea Hurley also have three sons: Jesse James, 17, Jacob Hurley, 10, and Romeo Jon, 8.
