Actress Jennifer Esposito has talked for the first time after she was put on leave of absence from CBS’ “Blue Bloods,” saying, “What happened was ugliness.” Esposito’s character was put on leave after she asked for a reduced work load because she suffers health issues with celiac disease. She tells Fox News Channel’s “Fox Files” tomorrow of treatment by CBS and the show ‘s producers after she collapsed on set and had to be taken to her doctor: “Last week . . . I was told I was on suspension, which meant I am still in contract . . . and they illegally stopped paying. And I am not able to work on any other TV show, on [a] network. I can do a film, or Broadway, or something on cable that doesn’t go in the 10 o’clock time slot. So they kept me in my contract without pay, and, yes, it’s completely illegal, but they also knew that I didn’t have the money . . . to sue them.” She goes on to say, “I have been in the business for 20 years . . . It’s what you sign up for. It is what it is. This, though, is something that is not about me, I feel. This is about a disease that people don’t understand. And what went on after, it makes me sick.”
