New Jersey governor Chris Christie was asked to comment on the Hostess bankruptcy during a press conference, but knowing he’d be trapped into talking about Twinkies, he shrewdly deflected the question.
“Really, seriously, you’re not asking me about Hostess Twinkies, are ya?” he replied. “What’s the next question?”
He continued with true Christie flair, “This is a setup! You people are the worst! I am not answering questions on Twinkies!…It’s bad that I even said the word ‘Twinkie’ from behind this microphone.”
Christie deadpanned, “I’m on ‘Saturday Night Live‘ enough.” The down-to-earth then posted his rant on his YouTube channel. You can almost hear SNL writers sharpening their pencils.
