Nicolas Cage pays off $600K in back taxes: report

Based on actor Nic Cage’s track record with the IRS, it seems nothing’s certain but death and Cage avoiding taxes. But the alleged serial tax offender is paying off the huge debt he owes Uncle Sam.

According to TMZ, Cage has paid a $624,934.64 tax lien from last year for the expensive gifts he gave to friends and family from 2004 to 2009.

Cage has expensive tastes – besides three castles, two yachts and two islands in the Bahamas, he also famously out-bid Leonardo DiCaprio for a 67-million-year-old dinosaur skull that set him back a whopping $276,000.

Cage’s tax woes reportedly ballooned to $14 million in 2010, but he has been able to chip away at the jaw-dropping sum thanks to the many roles he’s taken over the years and the new projects he has lined up. According to IMDB, Cage is attached to 12 different upcoming movies including “Kick-Ass 2″, “I Am Wrath” and the rumored “National Treasure 3.”

However, Cage isn’t entirely off the hook. TMZ reports that he still owes over $6 million to the IRS, so we can probably count on even more Cage flicks in the very near future.
