Painkiller event with Molly Shannon leaves us with a headache

The makers of a certain painkiller brand threw such a painful event Wednesday, they had us reaching for their competitor Advil. As the sun shone outside, reporters sat inside a dim club Arena in Midtown to watch commercials and listen to a cute, brief speech by the brand’s spokesperson, former “SNL” star Molly Shannon. “That was it?” one guest groused. After we’d yawned through the presentation as Shannon took photos with the pill bottle, and been offered shrimp and sweaty cheese, the event reps ordered Page Six to leave, saying they hadn’t meant to invite us despite the many prior e-mails to make sure we were on our way. If giving reporters a headache was the goal, they succeeded.
