Socialites weary from the benefit season slog were in the mood for a change of pace at the Art Production Fund’s gala honoring Yoko Ono and Richard Pandiscio this week. Fund founders Yvonne Force Villareal and Doreen Remen bypassed the usual venues in favor of ABC Carpet & Home’s sixth floor, where painter/designer Madeline Weinrib keeps her atelier. Guests included Lauren Santo Domingo, Aby Rosen, Samantha Boardman, Cindy Sherman, Jeff Koons, Amy Sacco, Jay McInerney, Vito Schnabel and Steven Klein. The site also came with another perk: catering from Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s ABC Kitchen downstairs. “I’m actually enjoying the food at a benefit,” admitted a jaded gala-goer. The night ended with a pile of discarded stilettos as guests jumped on piles of carpet to dance. The night’s entertainment, MC Yogi — who performed with DJ Drez for the occasion — joked to the cutting-a-rug crowd, “Congratulations! You just bought a $50,000 carpet!” Also at the bash were artists Ryan McGinley, Aaron Young and John Currin.
