New chapter for Mel Gibson’s ex

Perhaps best known for her bruising child custody battle with ex Mel Gibson, Oksana Grigorieva is releasing a dance album she says reflects a happier time. Listeners will undoubtedly search for clues in the songs about their tumultuous relationship, which included Gibson pleading no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge in 2011. But, “It is a somewhat new time in my life, a happier time,” Grigorieva, whose new EP is called “Love To Dance,” told Page Six yesterday. “Dancing is a form of celebration.” Some song titles certainly sound edgy — “Dark Secret” is inspired by “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” the singer explained, adding, “It’s a dark film, and maybe because I was going through certain dark moments in my life, I sort of got completely involved [with] that book [as well].” Lyrics to first single “Party” include the lines: “Every night you’re going places/in the hope of sweet embraces/waking up to the sound of silence/how to feel no pain.” “It’s not really for me to explain, it’s for listeners to interpret,” said Grigorieva of her words. “But it’s about searching and looking for that piece of a puzzle, for that person you’re always looking for.” Though Grigorieva wouldn’t be more specific, she did tell us that one of her favorite artists is Taylor Swift — known for writing about her famous ex-boyfriends. In January, Grigorieva filed a suit against her lawyers in the Gibson case over legal advice in a reported settlement of $750,000, joint legal custody and a house in which to live until Lucia, the couple’s daughter, 3, turns 18. She also has a child with former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton.
