Charlie Sheen’s former assistant Rick Calamaro was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment yesterday, according to TMZ.com
Calamaro, a former Hollywood club promoter, is the man who reportedly enabled Sheen on the drug binge that led him on his infamous meltdown of 2011. Calamaro was reportedly with Sheen when the “Anger Management” star trashed a hotel room at the Plaza Hotel after a dispute with porn star Capri Anderson.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Calamaro was found with “numerous pain medications and an open bottle of alcohol” in his apartment.
It also appeared that Calamaro had been dead for several days when he was found.
His cause of death has not been determined.
