Johnny Depp and his longtime partner Vanessa Paradis only recently announced their split, but according to new reports the couple have been on the outs since 2010.
Paradis grew to resent Depp’s success as her singing career floundered, Us Weekly reports.
“Vanessa started to feel like she’d sacrificed her career for his,” a source tells the mag. “Nothing Johnny did was ever good enough for Vanessa. When he was working, she wasn’t happy. And when he wasn’t working, he was called a slob for not doing enough for the kids and her family.”
The insider also claims that Paradis, “started to drink heavily,” according to US.
Depp’s publicist sent out a announcement of their break-up June 19 saying, “Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have amicably separated. Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children.”
People magazine ran a cover story back in January declaring the relationship was over, with the headline, “Love Gone Wrong” and “Johnny Depp Living Single.”
The pair were together for fourteen years and have two children. Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, 10.
It is rumored that Depp has hooked up with his bisexual “The Rum Diary” co-star, Amber Heard.
