Lindsay Lohan cleared over alleged Dream Downtown hit and run

At last, some good news for Lindsay Lohan. Manhattan prosecutors have quietly decided not to pursue a case against the actress following a Chelsea pedestrian’s claim in September that she clipped him with her car outside the Dream Downtown Hotel, reports The Post’s Laura Italiano. Authorities confirmed that Lohan’s Oct. 23 court date has been canceled without another date being scheduled — a surefire indication that the case has been dropped. No surprise there: Widely circulated video showed Lohan had proceeded slowly and flashed her lights to warn the stroller as she pulled into the hotel’s parking garage in a Porsche Cayenne SUV. “Victim” Jose Rodriguez, 34, does not appear to have been struck, according to the footage, which instead shows him chasing after the star to take photographs. Still, he claimed to cops that “Lindsay Lohan ran me over,” according to a law enforcement source. Lohan was not given a breath test at the time of the Sept. 19 incident. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly later said that cops don’t believe Lohan was drunk. The actress remains on informal probation for swiping a necklace from a Los Angeles jewelry store last year. Meanwhile, she still has her father, Michael Lohan, to deal with. After failing to stage an intervention over the weekend, he now wants to put Lindsay under a Britney Spears-style court-supervised “conservatorship.”
