Bibi Ferreira brings Brazilian rhythm

Bibi Ferreira proved why she’s the most famous singer in Brazil when she brought down the house at Alice Tully Hall on Sunday. Ferreira, who appeared to be about half her age of 90, sang tango music in Spanish, Edith Piaf songs in perfect French, and tunes in English from “My Fair Lady” and “Hello, Dolly!” — which she brought to Brazil and starred in. Backstage, Liza Minnelli compared the experience to seeing Charles Aznavour when she was 16. “I feel like someone took a big, wet flounder and slapped me in the face,” Minnelli said.
