Bloom raves about kissing ‘Juliet’ after Kerr split

Orlando Bloom didn’t say a word about his split from Miranda Kerr when he appeared on ‘Live With Kelly And Michael’ on Friday – screened just hours after he announced his marriage was over.

But he did enthusiastically describe kissing Condola Rashad who appears on Broadway with him in “Romeo and Juliet.”

While discussing kissing Condola, 26, the Tony award-winning daughter of Cosby Show star Phylicia Rashad and football player Ahmad Rashad, Bloom said, “’We sometimes get applause after our first kiss because it just goes on,’ he starts. “Sometimes I’m like, I’m not letting go.”

Orlando began his Broadway run this summer and will continue to star as Romeo until early next year. He told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan that he’d become close to his cast members, saying, ‘After the show, people go for a drink to certain different places.’

“I feel so fortunate to be doing it,” he  continued. “I mean, it’s a monster of a play, a wonderful play, but it was really one of those things where my mom was like so, so you decided to climb Everest on the first trip out the gate? That was your thinking, without oxygen.”

And of New York, “I love when you walk out into the city you feel like you’re part of the stream of life, you know what I mean?” he stated. “You come across everybody, everybody’s energy. Some people are going up the stream, some are downstream, depending on the day but we’re all in it together. And I love it.”

Orlando and Miranda, 30, confirmed their split on Thursday, and a rep for the British actor said in a statement: “Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months.”

A rep for Orlando Bloom added that Orlando’s appearance “‘Live With Kelly And Michael’ was a pre-tape that aired this morning which is why there was no mention of the separation during the interview. We were not planning to put out a statement last night, but needed to respond to an incoming inquiry.”
