SHAWN King, wife of newsman Larry and mother of two, is one of two finalists being considered for the role of Arachne in Bono‘s “Spider-Man,” the much-anticipated and hugely expensive musical set to debut on Broadway in February. Shawn — a country-western singer before she met the CNN icon — belted out two of Bono’s original show tunes, “Turn Off the Dark” and “Rise Above.” Although she’s never played Broadway, she’s convinced the stars are aligned on her side. The very superstitious singer, who considers 30 her favorite number, auditioned on June 30 at 3:30 p.m.
