Zach Galifianakis pulls out of press conference due to fear of heights, Bradley Cooper a ‘diva’

Zach Galifianakis, who has a crippling fear of heights, had to pull out of a press conference for “The Hangover Part III” because it was on a peak near Brazil’s famed Sugarloaf Mountain. The actor, whose character, Alan, attempts to rappel down the side of Caesars Palace using a rope fashioned out of bedsheets in the new movie, was too afraid to attend the media session at Morro da Urca in Rio. “The only way to get up there was by cable car,” says an insider. “Zach was too afraid to ride up.” A rep for Warner Bros. confirmed, “Zach is afraid of heights, and called into the press conference to let participants know, and made a few jokes.” Braver co-stars Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms made the trip up 220 meters to the peak.

Although the official excuse for Galifianakis pulling out of the conference was his fear of heights, a local publication claims that Cooper, Galifianakis and other members of their team couldn’t agree on the timing for the event. Cooper was also reportedly acting a bit a “like a diva.”

According to Glamurama.com, the press conference with Cooper and Galifianakis was scheduled for the morning but cancelled due to an apparent catfight between the two actors that took place yesterday at the Fasano hotel where they both are staying.

Despite the complication, Cooper attended the press conference, but he was reportedly late, didn’t talk to fans and ignored most of the press. At one point, when a reporter asked him, “What was his bachelor party like before he married Jennifer Esposito?” his answer was simply, “I never had a bachelor party.”
