Her show “Pippin” is favored to take top honors at the Tonys tomorrow, but dancer Charlotte d’Amboise had some trouble accepting a prize of her own this week. Spies at the Fred & Adele Astaire Awards said that when d’Amboise — who’s also starred in “Chicago,” “A Chorus Line” and “Cats” — went up to accept an award for outstanding female dancer, she “fell, lost a shoe, then proceeded to drop her award, breaking it in the process.” Wincing in the audience at the Skirball Center were Bebe Neuwirth, Harry Belafonte and Cassandra Seidenfeld. Also honored at the 31st annual gala was “Motown” dancer Eric LaJuan Summers. A rep for “Pippin” didn’t return a request for comment.
