Pam Anderson ad banned for being ‘sexist and degrading to women’

Pamela Anderson’s sexy new TV commercial has been banned in Britain for being sexist and degrading to women.

The ad for Web hosting service Crazy Domains features the 45-year-old former “Baywatch” babe playing a company boss holding a meeting full of men with the help of a female assistant.

It then cuts to a dream sequence where one of the men fantasize about Anderson and the assistant dancing in gold bikinis and splashing around in cream. When the man snaps out of the fantasy, he ogles the female assistant’s cleavage as she pours him coffee.

The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority banned the raunchy ad after complaints from viewers, The Guardian reports. The ad is “likely to cause serious offence to some viewers on the basis that it was sexist and degrading to women,” the ASA said.

Dreamscape Networks, the parent company of Crazy Domains, argued that the dream sequence was not “gratuitous or pornographic.”
