Mission impossible on ‘24’

A Former star of the hit series “24,” Shohreh Aghdashloo, says in a new book that bad-boy actor Kiefer Sutherland was difficult to work with and wanted her off the show because her character was becoming too popular. Aghdashloo played terrorist Dina Araz, and recalls in her new HarperCollins release “The Alley of Love and Yellow Jasmines,” “I loved being part of the cast of ‘24,’ but working with Kiefer proved challenging even for me. I can get along with almost anyone, and always have.” She adds, “In the end my popular character was going to become a mole as powerful as Kiefer’s [character], which he did not like.” The actress — who has also appeared on “NCIS,” “House” and “ER” — said that when her character was killed on “24,” producers told her she would be shot off-camera so that “there was a possibility I would return to the show.” But “I knew in my heart that Kiefer would not agree with them, for he did not want me there, period.” Sutherland’s gearing up for “24: Live Another Day,” which will premiere next year.
