Oh, snap! Hours after Kelly Rowland posted a nostalgic photo of herself and ex-bandmate Beyoncé hugging the late r&b star Aaliyah, Queen Bey put up the same picture — but with her former Destiny’s Child frenemy cropped out.
Besides deleting Rowland, Beyoncé’s “Throwback Thursday” tribute to Aaliyah on Instagram is tinted black and white to look like as if it’s a completely different image. So much for bygones.
Kelly posted the vintage trio shot from a music awards ceremony on what would have been Aaliyah’s 35th birthday, and tagged it with, “#weloveyouAaliyah #tbt.” Beyonce replied four hours later with the altered image and the caption, “God bless baby girl.”
It’s no secret that Rowland hasn’t enjoyed as much success as Beyonce since Destiny’s Child. Rowland admitted as much last year with a single, “Dirty Laundry,” in which she vented some jealousy at Beyonce’s solo stardom. But she also brushed aside rumors that their relationship had soured, insisting that her “sister” is still “incredibly supportive” and that reports saying otherwise were “crazy.”
