Lena Dunham lands Vogue cover

Lena Dunham has broken through Vogue’s glossy ceiling, with Anna Wintour devoting the February issue to “Girls,” sources tell Page Six.

While Dunham will appear on the cover, Wintour has also given the HBO hit her seal of approval by posing on the red carpet with the series’ creator, who wore a glittering Rodarte gown, at the Season 3 premiere hosted by HBO’s Richard Plepler and the Cinema Society in New York on Monday night.

Dunham tells us she has a better handle on the media despite some criticism on social media.

“I hope I’ve always lived my life in a way that I’d be proud to share,” she said at Jazz at Lincoln Center. “We live in a culture that really comes down on people for inconsistencies, and everyone is waiting for the next news story. So you do have to be careful, but you also just kind of have to be impervious.”

Exec producer Judd Apatow has her back, saying, “Every once in a while, people get weirded out by something you say and then people forget . . . really fast.”
