Like a lion laying down with the lambs, The Post’s acerbic Michael Riedel generously agreed to perform a dramatic reading from Glen Berger’s new tome, “Song of Spider-Man: The Inside Story of the Most Controversial Musical in Broadway History” — and the producers of the show are the ones promoting it.
While they say the Broadway columnist “has vocally been rooting against the production (which grossed more than $1.4 million last week) since the very beginning,” I say, don’t kill the messenger — he was just doing his job as one actor after another was injured, the director was fired and untold millions were spent on the long-delayed musical.
The release, noting that the show is celebrating its third anniversary, snarkily concludes: “We hope you enjoy the sound of Mr. Riedel’s voice as much as he does.”
