Divorce from Christie Brinkley worked out wonderfully for architect Peter Cook, at least career-wise. “I had the best two years of business during my divorce for some reason, maybe it was because I had some international business as well,” Cook, at the Hampton Classic with girlfriend Suzanne Shaw, told Hampton Sheet publisher Joan Jedell. “After all I went through, not even a ripple in my business.” A lesson learned? “Don’t wish for peace, you create it,” Cook said. Was that an aphorism he came up with? “Well,” he told Jedell, “maybe I saw it on a button at Ricky’s in East Hampton. They have some great philosophical buttons there.”
