LeAnn Rimes on alleged bikini addiction, ‘I’m not grocery shopping in a bikini’

Since she couldn’t very well wear a bikini to a TV interview, LeAnn Rimes instead appeared on “Chelsea Lately” last night in a provocative dress that revealed her cleavage and a pair of exceptionally high red heels.

But the eternally string bikini-clad Rimes spoke on the show about her so-called addiction, and defended her love of frolicking in revealing swimwear.

LEANN RIMES DIET ADVISE: DRINK MARGARITAS AND EXERCISE

“I am on the [bleeping] beach, for God’s sake,” Rimes told host Chelsea Handler. “I’m not like going shopping at the grocery store in a bikini. I’m on the beach and there happen to be photographers who follow us everywhere. It’s quite annoying.”

As for whether Rimes staged the photos, she admits that sometimes she does in order to get the paparazzi to leave her alone.

“But the ones where I’m picking the wedgie out of my butt in my bathing suit?” said Rimes. “I definitely wasn’t setting that one up.”

Handler acknowledged that she’s been highly critical of the bathing suit-loving country singer, who split with husband Dean Sheremet and subsequently married Eddie Cibrian.

“I know that you’ve seen me talking [bleep] about you on the show,” Handler said as Rimes made her entrance

“Absolutely. I have, which is more why I wanted to come on,” Rimes responded. “I watched your show religiously — until you made fun of me. No, I just really don’t watch much TV any more, but when I was getting divorced I had a lot of time at night to watch. I was bawling my eyes out and thinking, ‘What’s going on with my life.’ I was watching your show thinking I could get a laugh out of it, and instead I was laughing at you laughing at me.”

But Rimes says that watching herself mocked on the show was actually a good experience.

“It was actually the first time I could cry and laugh at the same time,” Rimes said. “So you know what, those are great memories for me.”

Handler responded, “Your divorce was great memories for me too.”

“And for everybody else,” joked Rimes.
