Kate Hudson names newborn son Bingham Hawn

LOS ANGELES — Kate Hudson and fiance Matthew Bellamy revealed Thursday they had named their newborn son Bingham “Bing” Hawn Bellamy.

Hudson, 32, welcomed her second child — and her first baby with the British rocker — Saturday but sources close to the actress said she had been struggling to decide on the perfect name for the boy.

But Bellamy tweeted to fans Thursday, “So happy! Just had a baby boy, Bingham ‘Bing’ Hawn Bellamy.”

“For those wondering, Bingham is my mum’s maiden name and Bing Russell was Kurt’s dad. Family connections all round!” the 33-year-old Muse frontman explained.

Kurt Russell is the longtime partner of Hudson’s mother, legendary screen siren Goldie Hawn.

“Mum and baby are strong and healthy. Mum was a warrior, Bing popped out after 4.5 hours of intense pushing!” the proud father added about the baby that weighed in at 7 lbs,12 oz.

He joins big brother Ryder Russell, Hudson’s 7-year-old son with ex-husband Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes. Her eldest son’s middle name also honors Russell.

Hudson began dating Bellamy in the spring of 2010 and announced her pregnancy in January.

She revealed the pair was engaged on the “Today” show in late April.
