House Majority Leader Eric Cantor bailed on a fund-raising dinner to be hosted by Goldman Sachs honcho Lloyd Blankfein Friday night. Amid heated talks in DC about lowering the debt ceiling, the rising Republican star was slated to break bread at Blankfein’s Hamptons home. Cantor, who’s married to a former Goldman employee, voted for the 2008 bailout that sent billions of dollars to the bank. “The dinner is not happening as of today,” a Goldman rep said. Cantor’s rep said he “canceled his weekend travel so as to be available for any meetings or developments as we work toward a solution on the debt.”
