Cynthia Rowley revealed her Playboy roots at a party for the magazine’s new Playboy Commission — a panel of honorary editors from the art and fashion worlds — at Partners & Spade gallery. The designer was overheard telling gallery co-owner Anthony Sperduti the other night that her first fashion credit was in Playboy when she was still a student. But when the spread was published — featuring a model only in Rowley’s sailor skirt and a sailor hat — she realized she couldn’t show it to her parents. Also at the party, where guests checked out Playboy’s iPad app, were Jimmy Jellinek, Dustin Yellin, Andy Spade and Sophie Buhai.
