While the US women’s soccer team valiantly lost the championship game to Japan on Sunday, it still earned a Champagne toast at Avenue Monday night from Don Johnson (the Wyoming businessman, not the “Miami Vice” star). Johnson — known as the “Champagne King” after he spent $270,000 on the largest bottle of bubbly ever sold at a London club — sent over a 15-liter bottle to Heather Mitts, Shannon Boxx, Kelley O’Hara, Stephanie Cox, Rachel Buehler and Megan Rapinoe. An American flag was carried through the room while the girls celebrated.
