Cissy Houston disgusted by Grammy gala invite

Cissy Houston, the mother of the late Whitney Houston, said it was “obscene” that she was invited to Clive Davis’ Grammy party this year.

“I got an invitation to the party — which is the most obscene thing,” Cissy told Access Hollywood about the invitation. “I don’t know why they would want me to come to the party in which she died, you know? Unheard of.”

The beloved singer had drowned in a bathtub before she was expected to attend her mentor’s annual pre-Grammy gala.

Cissy added during the interview, “I guess maybe he just sent me a copy for remembrance sake.”

The Houston matriarch will not be attending the Grammy ceremony itself but said she will be watching Sunday’s awards. Whitney’s brother, Gary, and his wife, Pat, plan to attend Davis’ party, however, “Access” said.

Cissy also gave a response about her relationship with Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

Bobbi Kristina tweeted last week that she was angry about the book Cissy wrote about Whitney. “I find it 2b disrespect2mymother & me being her daughter won’t tolerate it,” Bobbi Kristina wrote.

“She’s grieving. [She’s] really grieving,” Cissy said. “Bobbi Kris knows — she better know — that I love her. Anything I can do for her, I’ll be there. I wouldn’t say anything [bad] about my daughter. That’s MY daughter, whom I loved with all my heart.

“I love Krissy because she belongs to my daughter, all right?” she continued. “I think that she’s just grieving. That’s the only other thing I can say about it.”
