EXCLUSIVE: Sale Johnson, Ahmad Rashad officially end marriage

Ahmad Rashad and his estranged wife, Sale Johnson, have officially released a statement on their split.

“After careful consideration, we have decided to end our marriage,” they said in a joint statement exclusively received by Page Six. “This process, while difficult, is and has always been amicable — despite erroneous press reports to the contrary — and we remain committed to jointly raising our daughter. We appreciate the respect of our privacy during this trying time.”

We revealed in January that Sale and Rashad, who wed in 2007, were splitting after fights over his friendship and frequent nights out with Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan.

After the death of Sale’s daughter Casey in 2010, they adopted Casey’s daughter, Ava. Florida journalist Jose Lambiet reported Rashad had lost custody of 6-year-old Ava after Sale petitioned for sole custody.

We reported last week that the former NFL star and the fabulously wealthy ex of Jets owner Woody Johnson were at war over their favorite golf club as they hammered out their ugly divorce.
