French ambassador Francois Delattre’s wife, Sophie, is said to be driving staff out of their lavish DC residence, scene of the Vanity Fair/Bloomberg White House Correspondents Dinner after-party. Social secretary Denise Koptcho resigned, following the chef and house manager who quit after the Delattres moved in last year. During “receptions downstairs . . . she’d be upstairs, screaming at Francois,” a source said. Delattre told us through his rep, “The ambassador’s [DC] residence must apply the highest standards in terms of professionalism and hospitality. This was not what I found upon my arrival . . . We are committed to making this effort on an ongoing basis. We owe it to France’s reputation.”
