Brad Pitt injured knee falling on ski slope while carrying daughter

Brad Pitt has revealed the nature of the injury that left him walking with a cane last week. The “Moneyball” actor took a tumble while carrying daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 3, during a skiing excursion.

“It was a little slip over New Year’s Eve. A little bit of damage, but everything’s fine,” explained Pitt on Saturday night at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala. “I was carrying my daughter down a slope and I slipped. It was me or her. She’s fine.”

BRAD PITT WALKS WITH A CANE

Pitt opted for black cane to match his sleek black suit as he walked down the red carpet of the gala. Alongside Angelina Jolie, Pitt cut a much more pulled-together figure than he did when he was first photographed with the cane, exiting a skin care spa in sweats with a clunky metal walking stick.

The cane didn’t stop Pitt from interacting with fans on the red carpet, either. Balancing his weight on the stick, he shook dozens of hands as he entered the event. Later in the evening, he accepted the Desert Palm Achievement Award for his roles in “Moneyball” and “Tree of Life.”

But Jolie seemed just as proud of Pitt’s injury as the award.

“It is cool,” said Jolie. “When [Maddox] was younger, I took a fall and cracked my elbow because I wanted to make sure he didn’t have the fall … Every parent has injured themselves. Every parent will stand in the line of fire for their kids. So it’s a normal thing.”

When asked if Pitt was slacking on housework thanks to the injury, Jolie defended her long-time partner.

“He’s not that kind of guy,” she told E! Online. “He does everything still … I’m proud of him every single day,”

Pitt specified that he had torn his medial collateral ligament, one the of the four ligaments that stabilizes the knee. It’s unclear how long he’ll have to walk with the assistance of a cane or whether he will require surgery.
