Too much ‘Boss’ for NJ gov

Bruce Springsteen’s marathon, highenergy gig at MSG had a celebrity crowd rocking — except for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who was caught dozing by fans.

Christie — an ardent Boss buff who’s said to have caught fellow New Jersey heavy-hitter Springsteen’s show more than 100 times — was seen snoozing by fellow fans in his MSG section.

“The governor was very active during the show,” said a spy. “Bruce started talking about ‘supporting food banks in New York and New Jersey,’ and ‘how people have been hit hard,’ and Christie was riveted. Then Bruce performed ‘Rocky Ground,’ and Christie visibly started fading.”

A picture sent from another fan shows the hardworking Republican, dressed in a casual blue shirt, resting his head on his hand, apparently taking a disco nap.

Spies told Page Six that one rowdy Bruce fan noticed the snoozing statesman and yelled over the loud music, “Wake up, Governor!” — which one source said put Christie’s security detail momentarily “on edge.”

But Bruce spent some time giving big ups to the Garden State: He pointed out to the crowd that the Statue of Liberty, the Giants and Frank Sinatra (whose “New York, New York” played as he took the stage) all hailed from . . . Jersey.

The Garden was packed with VIP fans, including REM’s Peter Buck, celeb chef Tom Colicchio, “The Good Wife” star Josh Charles, ABC’s Christiane Amanpour (looking great in an unusually sexy outfit), Renée Fleming and Jersey son Jon Stewart.

Out of three hours of old hits and new tunes, “ ‘Dancing in the Dark’ got Clive Davis really going,” said a source who spotted the music mogul, 80, sticking a finger in the air when the 1984 hit played. Roots drummer Questlove tweeted, “I’m about to Courtney [sic] Cox dance,” referring to the song’s famous video.

A rep for Christie declined to comment on whether he took a power nap but said, “At no point did the detail get ‘on edge.’ ”
