Elton John performs at fundraiser for gay marriage

After criticism for performing at the wedding of gay-marriage opponent Rush Limbaugh, Elton John has agreed to join a fund-raiser for the American Foundation for Equal Rights. He’ll give a full concert on Jan. 19 at Ron Burkle‘s “Green Acres” estate in Beverly Hills. The foundation is helping to fund the legal case against Prop. 8, which banned gay marriage in California. Elton’s move comes on the heels of an art auction in New York that raised $600,000 for the foundation and which drew support from Mayor Bloomberg and Google’s Eric Schmidt.
