Boldfaces hail Richard Johnson

A galaxy of New York’s most glamorous and powerful luminaries gathered Tuesday night to toast legendary Page Six columnist Richard Johnson, who has moved to Los Angeles after 25 years of editing this page. Mayor Bloomberg, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, Donald and Melania Trump, Katie Couric, Martha Stewart, Tory Burch and Lyor Cohen all joined Post Editor-in-Chief Col Allan at the party at The Four Seasons restaurant. Johnson, who returned to town for the bash after moving to the West Coast to work on News Corp.’s new digital venture, told guests, “I am overwhelmed. I want to thank my agent, my hairdresser — wait a minute, I’m not in California!” He said he looked forward to using his surprise gift: a surfboard. Other big names included Fox 5’s Rosanna Scotto, CNN’s Alina Cho, music mogul Andre Harrell, Desiree Gruber and Kyle MacLachlan, magazine publisher Jason Binn, novelist Jay McInerney and Anne Hearst, Nobu’s Richie Notar, Nancy Shevell, Eric Villency, Bergdorf Goodman senior VP and women’s fashion director Linda Fargo, Prudential Douglas Elliman CEO Dottie Herman, top broker Dolly Lenz, Corcoran CEO Pamela Liebman, billionaire Stewart Rahr, Wilhelmina Models president Sean Patterson, Sam and Libby Edelman of Sam Edelman shoes, financier Steven Greenberg and entrepreneur Paolo Zampolli. Trump, who’s been the subject of innumerable Page Six raves and slams, spoke for many when he told us, “Johnson is a class act. We’ll miss him.”
