Israeli actor and peace activist Juliano Mer-Khamis, who appears in Julian Schnabel and Rula Jebreal‘s movie “Miral” and starred opposite Diane Keaton in 1984’s “Little Drummer Girl,” was murdered in Jenin yesterday. Mer-Khamis was shot at close range in his car by a masked gunman outside his Freedom The ater, a drama and cultural center he set up in the Palestinian refu gee camp. Mer-Khamis, whose mother was Jewish and his fa ther Palestinian, was opposed to military occupation and was re portedly receiving death threats. A “Miral” rep said, “Rula and Ju lian were very shocked at this tragic news.”
